Bryan Sumner
Attorney
Bryan was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Winston-Salem State University, affectionately known as WSSU, where he was a Chancellor’s Scholar. After graduation from WSSU, Bryan attended and graduated from North Carolina Central University School of Law (NCCU School of Law) and passed the 2019 North Carolina Bar Examination. He is currently admitted to the North Carolina State Bar and each of the Federal District Courts of North Carolina, the State Bar of South Carolina, and is a member of the Wake County Bar Association and North Carolina Bar Association, and Capital City Lawyers Association, among others.
His practice focuses on claims involving discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other violations of state and federal employment laws. In addition to employment disputes, Bryan also assists individuals with matters involving personal injury including car accidents, contract disputes including NIL, and police use of force cases.
Bryan brings a unique, dual sided, and practical approach to assist individuals from his experience representing insurance companies when assisting with personal injury matters. He understands how the insurance companies evaluate risk, build their defenses, and litigate cases, and he uses that insight to position cases for resolution or trial. He endeavors to approach each case with a trial-ready mindset and a focus on accountability while maintaining the highest level of service.
In his spare time and as a former athlete, he enjoys watching and cheering on the Washington Commanders and UNC Tarheels, and spending time with his wife Asia, and their family. Bryan is also involved in community outreach and service through the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.
